Best of Young American Novelists 2027

Every ten years, Granta magazine publishes a special issue identifying twenty of the best writers in a generation of American novelists. In autumn 2027, we will publish the fourth edition, celebrating this decade’s most promising young writers. Authors must be nominated by their publisher or agent via our online application form. There is no limit on the number of authors nominated. We request that all relevant books by an author are submitted. The final deadline is June 16, 2026.
To nominate authors for our 2027 issue, publishers and agents should fill out the form below.
Eligibility Criteria
- Authors must have been born after 18 November 1987
- Authors must be permanent residents of the United States or have made the United States their longtime primary home
- Authors must have published a novel (not self-published) or have a novel under contract with a publication date no later than May 2028
Submissions will be considered in print and pdf. One print copy of each submitted book must be sent to BEST OF YOUNG AMERICAN, 12 Addison Avenue, London, UK, W11 4QR.
